Purilogics by Donaldson, located in Greenville, South Carolina, is a key player in Donaldson's expanding biotechnology initiatives. Specializing in membrane chromatography products, Purilogics supports a wide range of biologic targets including mRNA, pDNA, mAbs, and other modalities. Our solutions offer significant advantages in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency for complex biologic drugs.

ThePrincipal Operations Specialistwill be essential to the growth of Purilogics, overseeing theoperational execution of the Greenville facility and supporting the development of membrane chromatography products. This role requires a dynamic, entrepreneurial mindset to navigate the evolving product landscape while aligning with Donaldson's corporate culture. This position is ideal for someone with a strategic mindset, capable of managing laboratoryoperations and ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee laboratoryand facilityoperations, ensuring facilities are properly equipped, stocked, and maintained to high standards.

  • Develop and implement procedures and protocols aligned with R&D goals.

  • Collaborate with team leaders and mentor laboratory staff, ensuring training and development in relation to safe and more efficient operations.

  • Manage inventory, procurement, and equipment ensuring proper installation, maintenance and calibration.

  • Coordinate the preparation, documentation, and storage management of research data and samples.

  • Collaborate with R&D, Facilities, HR, and other teams to align laboperations with company objectives.

  • Support shipping, receiving, and facility modifications/shutdowns.

  • Maintain lab and facility cleanliness and safety protocols.

Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management:

  • Develop and enforce EHS policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure OSHA, EPA, and other safety standards are met.

  • Lead EHS training programs and ensure staff adherence to safe practices.

  • Investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.

  • Manage hazardous material and waste disposal in accordance with safety regulations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and maintain necessary documentation.

  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives within the lab.

  • Maintain EHS records and report regularly to senior management on lab performance, safety, and compliance.

Operational Execution:

  • Leadoperations at the site, including equipment,procurement,supply chain, logistics, project management,delivery,and EHS.

  • Coordinating with sales and production team, lead customer sample packaging and shipping in Greenville site to meet customer timelines

  • Drive a continuous improvement culture using Lean methodologies.

  • Lead strategic initiatives and align resources with business objectives.

  • Recommend plans for capital equipment, facilities, and staffing investments.

  • Manage and forecast budgets and resources, with an eye on capital equipment needs to support lab capacity and capabilities.

Lab Management:

  • Analyze lab efficiency metrics and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure the lab is audit-ready at all times by maintaining comprehensive documentation and trackingoperational metrics.

  • Champion safety-first practices and ensure a culture of continuous improvement in safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Laboratory Science, Engineering, EHS, or a related field

  • 5-7 years in lab operations including 3 years in EHS management with skills in safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and inventory management

  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards (e.g., GLP, GMP, OSHA, EPA)

  • Strong financial and logistics analysis skills, including budget tracking and inventory management

  • Proficiency in laboratory management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EHS certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, OSHA 30-Hour)

  • R & D or start- up environment

  • Experience in wet-chemistry lab environment or biological regulated reagent production

  • Proven leadership experience driving projects and achieving organizational goals

  • Lean methodology expertise

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or similar

  • Master's degree
