Your Responsibilities as a Staff Scientist 1: Collect soil, water, and/or air samples at client sites throughout Virginia and North Carolina. Perform stormwater facility inspections and maintenance. Perform investigation, monitoring, and cleanup activities for sites, ensuring compliance with VADEQ and NCDEQguidelines. Perform operation and maintenance activities on remediation systems. Gather and analyze field data. Input data into template reports. Conduct fieldwork at least 3-4 days per week (80%) using a company-provided vehicle. Actively develop your own career growth. What we're looking for: BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or other related field. Internship experience involving environmental field sampling and data collection desired. Strong technical writing skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices. 40-hour HAZWOPER certification desired. Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus. Experience with data management and report preparation. Ability to edit Phase I and II ESAs is preferred. Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required. Strong communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
