Specialist - Technology & Data Risk Job ID: 96281 Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day?
If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
As a Technology and Data Risk Specialist, you will drive critical risk management programs and projects to enhance the firm's ability to manage and mitigate risks effectively.
You will be responsible for independently overseeing risk management activities, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic priorities and regulatory obligations.
By leveraging your expertise, you will help shape the firm's overall risk posture and provide actionable solutions to complex challenges.
As part of your role, you will lead the execution of firm-wide and entity-level (e.g., practice level, product level) risk assessments, playing a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating risks across the firm.
You will design a structured and tailored approach to these assessments, ensuring it aligns with the firm's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. This will involve engaging directly with senior leaders through interviews and workshops to uncover critical risks, assess their likelihood and impact, and identify areas requiring immediate attention.
By driving these assessments, you will ensure the firm has a comprehensive understanding of its risk landscape.
You will own the maintenance and continuous improvement of the firm-wide risk register, ensuring risks are accurately documented, monitored, and updated.
In addition, you will ensure risks are appropriately managed by assigning clear ownership, tracking mitigation efforts, and confirming that policies and controls are updated as needed.
Your leadership in this area will provide senior stakeholders with a comprehensive and transparent view of the firm's risk landscape, enabling proactive decision-making, effective prioritization, and accountability across the firm.
You will independently analyze the risk register to provide key insights and actionable recommendations to address critical risks.
You will prepare and deliver comprehensive, data-driven risk reports tailored to senior leadership and other stakeholders, ensuring they have a clear and prioritized understanding of the risk landscape.
Your reports will provide practical guidance to inform strategic decision-making and drive effective risk mitigation efforts across the firm.
You will lead the design and implementation of key components of the Firm's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform, driving its effectiveness as a central tool for risk management.
Collaborating closely with technology and cybersecurity teams, you will define detailed requirements to support the configuration and continuous enhancement of the GRC platform. You will own the creation and ongoing maintenance of foundational elements, including establishing clear linkages between entities, risks, controls, issues, and actions.
Your goal will be to (a) streamline critical processes such as risk assessments, issue tracking, and exception management, and (b) provide a holistic and integrated view of risk across the firm.
Your efforts will ensure the platform operates as a robust, efficient framework that aligns with the firm's strategic objectives and fosters a proactive approach to risk management.
You will play a key role in supporting the firm's issues management program, ensuring issues are effectively tracked and resolved throughout their lifecycle.
Collaborating closely with first-line teams, you will ensure control gaps are addressed, timelines are met, and risks are appropriately mitigated.
You will also oversee the preparation of the quarterly issues report for review by leadership and stakeholders. By fostering collaboration and maintaining detailed issue documentation, you will help ensure the firm's risk management framework operates efficiently and aligns with its strategic priorities.
You will be based in one of our North America office, preferably our Dallas, Chicago or Boston office as part of our Technology and Data Risk team, reporting to the Manager, Technology and Data Risk.
In this role, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders across Legal, Technology, Cybersecurity, Ethics and Compliance, and other firm functions to independently lead key risk management initiatives and play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the firm's operations and strategic objectives.
