Primary Purpose of Organization Unit
The UNC Pembroke Leadership, Learning & Community ( LLC) office provides meaningful co- and extra-curricular developmental and educational opportunities for students to recognize their civic potential and challenge them to enrich and enhance their educational experience by becoming responsible citizens through active, engaged service and leadership, as outlined by the University's mission.
Guided by the University's Core Values, the Leadership, Learning & Community office is committed to enhancing the overall educational experience of students by:

  • Providing resources and leadership development opportunities where students experience and gain knowledge of social, political, and economic issues and engage communities, both local and global, through service;
  • Involving students in the planning, resource development, and implementation of co- and extra-curricular activities to foster leadership skills and civic engagement; and,
  • Supporting positive educational outcomes, including the ability to create, function in, and maintain a socially just, culturally engaged, civically responsible, sustainable, and technologically advanced community.

The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative support to the Leadership, Learning & Community office, its staff, students, community partners and programs.
Job Description
The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative support to the Leadership, Learning & Community office and its staff and programs. The position supports the office by serving as a representative to office guests, community partners, students, faculty, and staff; being responsible for multiple duties related to academic service-learning, community service, leadership development and civic engagement programs; being responsible for office management duties, including record keeping, processing requests and reimbursements, and understanding university policies and procedures; manage contracts for students and staff; office supply inventory management, staff purchasing card reconciliation, requisition processing via Banner; and supporting the director with overall budget and resource management.
Management Preference
High school diploma or equivalency and at least one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Administrative, clerical, and computer word processing experience preferred. Ability to work with diverse groups of people and assist with creating an inclusive work environment for staff, students, faculty, and guests.
