Responsibilities:

Our Plover production plant in Wisconsin is hiring seasonal employees to work from mid-June through late August. This is a seasonal position and offers you a great opportunity to work in food science.

• Package the seed, plant, and maintain the various research trials on snap beans.
• Accurately collect the data on the hand pick and machine harvest yield plots, disease nurseries, virus plots, and cultural practice trials.
• Record and enter data into the access program and excel data sheets.
• Accurately collect data on the hand pick and machine harvest yield plots under supervision.
• Plan and maintain the greenhouse seed increases.

Incidental Functions

• Always keep your work area clean.
• Ask for help to understand function and help in other areas as instructed by crew leader/supervisor if needed.
• Capable of doing some moderate physical work, hoeing weeds, carrying buckets, etc.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least 16 years old at the start of employment.
• Ability to work safely and maintain speed and pace.
• Able to work with co-workers.
• Must ensure all paperwork is legible and correct.
• Must be able to understand basic math.
• Able to understand and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions.
• Must be able to learn computer skills in excel and access.
• 6th grade education or more.
• Solid attendance.
• Reliable transportation.
• The ability to follow written and verbal instructions is essential to this role.
