Title: Pipeline Technician
Location: St. Gabriel, LA
Salary: $85,000 - $105,000
Schedule: 9/80 or Standard 40hr/wk available
Focus: The primary job responsibility of the Olin Pipeline Technician is overseeing the operation and maintenance of Liquid Chlorine and Hydrogen pipeline systems in St. Gabriel, and the Brine pipeline system in Plaquemine. This includes serving as primary contact and on-site representative for planned and emergency third-party excavation within the vicinity of Olin's underground pipeline systems.
Pipeline Technician Essential Functions:
- Timely response, correspondence, field verification and execution to Louisiana One Call "locate requests."
- Maintain a physical presence on the pipeline(s) right-of ways by performing surveillance and checking in on third party activities whose work may not conflict with Olin's pipelines.
- Responsible for documenting and recording changes within the pipeline right-of-way that directly affect the pipeline(s).
- Maintain records and submit work notifications for corrective actions for DOT compliance of each inspection and test performed by Olin or its contractors with respect to line markers, right-of-way inspections, signs, leakage surveys, valve maintenance, pipeline repairs, and public awareness.
- Responsible for monthly pigging of the Plaquemine brine pipeline.
- Provide status updates while working closely with Olin management to ensure they are aware of what issues or changes are currently present around their underground utilities.
Pipeline Technician Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience as a production operator or pipeline operator.
- Experience & knowledge of pipeline regulatory requirements & permitting preferred.
- Must be available for potential callouts should there be an emergency.
- Ability and willingness to complete DOT Competent Person Qualification.
- Strong demonstrated personal initiative, organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient user of MS Office Suite.
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position strongly preferred.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
