Collections Officer

To support the Collections Manager by making court appearances, negotiating settlements, handling difficult customer situations, negotiating documents such as titles and checks and providing assistance to the management of the Collections Department

What You Will be Doing.



  • Assists branch and lending personnel, communicates with borrowers to attempt to make payment arrangement prior to taking adverse action
  • Works with delinquent Real Estate and consumer loan clients that are 36 days delinquent or more.
  • Attempts to make Quality Right Party Contacts to resolve delinquency issues and advises customer of CFPB and options
  • Acts as backup to the Single Point of Contact representative and assists supervisor as needed
  • Insures that customer requesting additional information are transferred or referred to the Single Point of Contact rep
  • Acts as backup to the Recovery Officer on matters pertaining to repossession.
  • Continues to work real estate secured accounts that are not in any loss mitigation program until they reach 120 days delinquent
  • Recommends accounts for foreclosure or charge off and walk away, completes CILS and charge off recommendation forms
  • Maintains collection files and thoroughly documents collection status on Cyber system
  • Investigates and resolves lien issues utilizing several outside sources and state agencies
  • Participates in special projects and performs all duties as assigned by management
  • Prepares CILS forms and gathers files as needed or requested by Supervisor
  • Sends follow-up collection letters to clients on a daily basis
  • Prepares/Submits change of address letters to clients, notates new addresses in customer record


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Aminimum of five or more years collections experience and/or training, with at least three years experience in the recovery field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
