WCTC Foundation - Senior Director of Finance and Administration

We are seeking a Financial and Administrative Senior Director to lead financial operations, donor reporting, and administrative functions that support our mission. In this hands-on role, you'll be a key player in ensuring financial accuracy, nonprofit compliance, and operational efficiency-all while working closely with a tight-knit team dedicated to making a difference. This executive-level position works directly with donors and the Executive Director of the Foundation, helping to advance fundraising efforts and financial stewardship. The ideal candidate has experience in accounting, financial management, and nonprofit administration, with strong organizational and analytical skills.

Established in 1977, the WCTC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization separate from the College, dedicated to securing and managing charitable resources to enhance educational excellence and workforce development at WCTC. With over 20,000 gifts totaling more than $30 million, donor support has provided scholarships, funded advanced technologies, enhanced educational programs, and improved campus facilities.

Position Overview
As part of our small but high-impact team, the Financial and Administrative Senior Director will oversee essential financial functions such as preparing donor and stakeholder reports, processing payroll, managing accounts, and developing the annual budget. This role also includes human resources responsibilities, such as administering employee benefits, time tracking, and onboarding. Additionally, you will handle administrative operations by managing the donor database, ensuring compliance filings, responding to inquiries, and supporting special projects that advance the Foundation's strategic goals. With a collaborative and solution-focused mindset, you'll work across functions to enhance efficiencies, support fundraising efforts, and contribute to the Foundation's mission in meaningful ways.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a non-profit or higher education environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and donor management systems
- Strong organizational, analytical and compliance regulations is a plus
- Knowledge of non-profit financial is a plus

Supplemental Information

This position reports to the Executive Director and follows a Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM schedule, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends for events and meetings.
WCTC Foundation benefits:
Simplified employee pension (SEP)
- The eligibility requirements for the SEP are a minimum of 21 years of age and completion of one (1) year of service. Annual funding for the SEP will be set at 5% of annual compensation during employment with the WCTC Foundation, with the Foundation Executive Committee having the discretion to increase this percentage if so desired. The ownership of the SEP will be with you and will be your responsibility upon termination of employment with the WCTC Foundation. Funding to the SEP will occur monthly and be handled through the WCTC Foundation accounting structure.
- Long-Term Disability (LTD): Long-term disability (LTD) policy-Upon hire, we will coordinate with an insurance broker to secure an LTD policy that provides 66.67% of your base earnings in LTD benefits after a 60-day elimination period.
Health Care: This position may be eligible for a Health Care Stipend
Working Hours:
- Standard Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Additional Hours: Attendance at evening and weekend events may be required, as well as flexibility in schedule for Foundation-related activities.
Remote Work:
- Occasional remote work is allowed with prior approval from the Executive Director.
Vacation & Paid Time Off (PTO):
- PTO: 15 days of paid time off (PTO) will be granted annually on July 1st. PTO can be used for sick, personal, or vacation purposes. All unused PTO must be used by June 30th of the following year. If unused PTO remains, a 90-day carryover period may be requested. Any remaining PTO after September 30th will be forfeited.
- Holiday Pay: The WCTC Foundation follows the same holiday calendar as WCTC, which includes the following paid holidays:
- New Year's Day
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Day after Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Eve Day
- In addition, the workdays between Christmas and New Year's are campus closure days and are paid as holidays.
Other Requirements:
- The employee may be required to attend and/or participate in various events related to the Foundation, which could be outside of regular working hours.
