This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of GSK's fastest growing areas of work: Oncology Clinical Development ("OCD"). This Project Manager role is responsible for the delivery of our 2025 initiatives. These are our top priorities for 2025 that will enable OCD to accelerate Oncology R&D, resulting in growth of our people, pipeline & innovative medicines for patients. In this role you will drive the alignment of activities, processes and information flows across the OCD initiatives and those working on them. You will partner and collaborate with all members of OCD, from team members to Senior VPs. It is an influential role that will play a strategic part in aligning our initiative activity and maintaining momentum in delivery. Our initiatives focus on: Leadership Roles & Careers Smart Risk-Taking Constraints to Growth Community Engagement We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who demonstrates an agile learning ability, and is adept at bringing clarity and structure to ambiguous situations. The successful candidate must be willing to get involved in the detail, leaning in to support so that deadlines are met, while also bringing strategic vision to leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Work with the Oncology Clinical Development leadership team to support them in the delivery of the 2025 initiatives. Key elements include:
  • Governance for All Initiatives.
  • This includes chairing the monthly governance meeting, reporting on progress, tracking risks, issues and actions, maintaining the overall 'plan on a page', and capturing additional items that may need to be included in the initiatives in the future.
  • A communications element that considers the impact of all initiative communications on OCD culture; and can create appropriate content e.g. slides that share initiative progress appropriate for an All Staff meeting (c.120+ colleagues), or the Leadership Forum (c.40 colleagues) etc.
  • Support the delivery of individual initiatives.
  • This includes weekly check-ins with each initiative team and /or individual workstreams) to understand progress or blockers and support removing of blockages, as well as monitoring progress against timelines.
  • Partner with colleagues from Human Resources ("HR"), Finance and Resource Management, and other functions, as required to progress the initiatives and meet milestones.
  • It may also include ad-hoc support to create deliverables e.g. proposal for the OCD Engagement Committee, career development tool; Quarterly Highlights template.
  • Support with the quarterly resourcing review.
  • Idea generation for meetings and solution-oriented mindset to address the evolving Oncology landscape (i.e. new BD)
  • Periodically updating the Oncology Clinical Development Team team's channel.
Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years project leadership and management expertise and change management skills.
  • Able to travel internationally.
  • Proficient with MS Office programs: PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:

f you have the following characteristics; it would be a plus:

  • Advanced degree (i.e. MBA).
  • Transformation experience i.e. large-scale change initiatives.
  • Navigate people, perspectives and processes with sensitivity and emotional intelligence.
  • Anticipate problems and help resolve whatever can't be forestalled.
  • Facilitate discussions to reach decisions.
  • Provide leaders with thought partnership, an independent viewpoint and respectful challenge to drive effective business processes.
  • Regularly resolve ambiguous problems and challenges so that they can be effectively addressed.
  • Experience working on a range of projects at multiple organizational levels up to Senior VP.
  • Proven experience in onboarding yourself and getting up to speed quickly.
  • Ability to communicate to stakeholders and gain support for changes as well as holding others to account for their progress.
