Description

The Service Team Lead will model a safety-first mindset and set the example in the areas of communication, initiative, mentoring, teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner. The Service Team Lead must be able to coach and train junior technicians while performing jobs involving servicing and repair of equipment, working both independently and on a team. Extensive on the job training, classroom instruction, e-learning and leadership courses must be successfully completed. The Service Team Lead will advance in classification as attitude, skill level, and job performance is demonstrated and achieved.


  • Oversee and mentor five or more technicians in all the daily aspects of the repair process (troubleshooting, repair, parts order accuracy, service report quality, CC/5S/Housekeeping, etc.)
  • Provide input and participate in service technician performance reviews
  • Set and monitor daily milestones on shop repairs
  • Communicate daily to customers on the status of repairs via designated communication platform (Modern, CAT Interact)
  • Lead daily safety huddles, board walks, team meetings
  • Plans and performs repairs using correct tools and procedures
  • Orders and return parts for assigned jobs in timely manner
  • Ability to perform the following tasks on basic components in work area including engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; perform minor adjustments
  • Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance service according to factory guidelines
  • Demonstrates proper use of service information systems

Qualifications
Education
Technical/other training (preferred)
High School or Equivalent (required)
Experience
A minimum of three (3) years' work experience involving mechanical repairs or a combination of relevant experience and equivalent technical education is required. Experience using personal computers, and basic typing skills are required. (required)
