Your Role

The Human Factors Engineering (HFE) Coordinator role is responsible for coordinating HFE studies from initiation through completion. Additionally, this role supports the HFE team during the human factors/usability engineering process and develops study coordination procedures to improve effectiveness, speed and digitalization of study planning and HFE team internal communication.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the planning and organization of HFE study logistic-relevant work to keep a smooth study preparation and execution process, including (but not limited to) participant recruiting, ordering and shipping supplies/equipment, communication with third-party vendors, negotiating quotes with vendors providing study service, developing statement of work, processing non-disclosure agreements and payment, note-taking, data transcription & verification, etc.
  • Responsible for communication with Ethics &Compliance (E&C), Legal and Regulatory to advise HFE group members on study timeline, project costs, Vantive established Fair Market Valued rates, vendor contracts, Vantive local/global interaction policies/laws and regulations across different countries and regions. Develop and maintain job aids to guide HFE group members on relevant legal/E&C processes
  • Design, deploy and maintain HFE team SharePoint website for information and process digitalization; manage the HFE simulation labs for internal assessments and external studies, including (but not limited to) arranging room settings to accommodate study needs, maintaining inventory of devices and supplies, managing lab schedule within HFE team and cross-functional project teams, etc.
  • Instruct HFE group members and/or study coordinators across Global Business Units on study planning & coordination process. Advise on Vantive's internal E&C policies and processes for holding HFE studies with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in the U.S. and OUS.

Supporting:

  • Perform study budget estimations and track and monitor project budgetary commitments.
  • Actively reduce study risks through problem identification, contingency plans and escalation.
  • Collaborate with HFE group members to assess vendor capabilities, work with procurement to onboard new vendors, and update internal supplier list.
  • Support broader Research & Development functions with ordering needed supplies/equipment.

What you'll bring

  • * High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
    * Some college coursework preferred with technical certification in related field.
    *5+ years of working experience in a human factors/usability engineering team.
  • Familiar with the standard human factors/usability engineering process.
  • Demonstrate understanding of E&C, legal, regulatory, and quality requirements associated with studies including human subjects.
  • Ability to manage simultaneous HFE study logistics to meet established timelines within approved budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to act independently, make decisions and solve coordination work problems with minimal assistance.
  • Advanced skills in creating SharePoint pages and customizing PowerApps
  • Fluent in general MS Office tools.
  • Able to proactively improve processes, initiate projects and implement changes.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $ 72,000 - 99,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
