Director, Operational Warfighting Support

Stellar Solutions is searching for a Director with Joint operational experience and a strong background in Space. As a leadership team member in our 30+ year space engineering company, you will solve senior leader critical needs across the Department of Defense while you manage the full program lifecycle, build strong customer relationships, and play a key role in business development.

This position requires deep operational experience in joint and space operations, a strategic mindset, and the ability to facilitate wargames, tabletop exercise, and workshops for senior military and corporate officers. The ideal candidate is a retired O6-level officer with 20+ years of operational experience and a strong background in defense space programs.

This role is divided into three key areas: business development, billable work, and program management. The successful candidate must be willing to travel and drive business growth while ensuring successful program execution.

In this role, you will leverage your experience in joint and space operations, systems engineering, and program management to architect and execute cutting-edge solutions for senior leaders in DoD and the corporate world. You will also lead the development of new business opportunities across government sectors, such as integrating emerging commercial space technologies into defense planning and operations.

Responsibilities include:

Leading business development efforts, including customer engagement, proposal development, and partnership cultivation
• Facilitating wargames, senior leader seminars, and tabletop exercises for a variety of defense and commercial entities
• Managing the full lifecycle for projects and programs in the Stellar Advisors portfolio

Required Skills:

• 20+ years of operations experience including Joint and Space military operations, systems engineering, and program management
• US citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams, contracts, and customer relationships
• Experience working with commercial and defense space systems

Desired Skills:

• Retired O6-level officer with experience in military space operations
• Strong business development and customer engagement experience
• Personnel management and leadership of diverse, high-performing teams

Education:

Masters or higher, a technical degree is desired

Clearance:

Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility

Candidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment

The typical salary pay range for this position is USD $175,000 - $240,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, and a full benefits package including a significant, company funded profit-sharing retirement savings plan.
