Maintenance Team Leader

Basic Function

Oversees certain functions and activities of the Maintenance Department, supervising and coordinating technical resources to support area maintenance department; providing leadership and human resource management; resolving problems and issues as they arise; overseeing safety performance, maintenance/reliability of unit, clerical responsibilities, and cost control with minimal supervision. Comply with health, safety and environmental regulations.

Job Duties

  • Oversees industrial electrical maintenance work including, instrument, and analyzer crafts and contractors
  • Oversees quality of work, safety, and overall performance of assigned staff
  • Ensures that all mechanical craft work is completed as scheduled per procedure and plan.
  • Plans, organizes and oversees all work schedules for assigned employees
  • Coordinates with operations in scheduling equipment for repairs, and construction (depending on assignment), and developing work plans
  • Provides training, mentorship and coaching for subordinates and peers
  • Attends & actively participates in scheduled training
  • Monitors and enforces contractor compliance to all refinery safety and environmental regulations
  • Tracks head count and verifies timesheets to ensure cost and schedule compliance
  • Performs on-call duties
  • Supervises relief to other maintenance management personnel
  • Oversees department'syearly budget
  • Leads safety discussions and demonstrate leadership behavior that reinforces safety policies and culture
  • Backfills planners when needed
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

  • A minimum of seven years of related job experience is required.



PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:



  • Refining experience is preferred

Education Level

  • A minimum of a bachelor'sDegree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.

Required Skills

Knowledge of refinery operations. Specific craft knowledge. Proven interpersonal skills. Self-starter and safety sensitive. Troubleshooting skills and ability to function effectively in a team atmosphere. Knowledge of welding and equipment operation. A significant amount of experience working with job related equipment is essential. The ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Basic reading and writing skills. The ability to perform basic level mathematical calculations. Reading & interpreting process & craft-specific drawings / diagrams / sketches / schematics / blueprints / P&ID's.Responds appropriately to emergency situations

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Trade school or journeyman/craftsman training. Certification in Crane and Rigging Inspector Certification. Uses time management skills to effectively prioritize daily tasks & activities. Ability to use effective meeting management techniques. Able tomake decisions & resolve problems in a timely manner.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of up to 15 employees. May be responsible for oversight of up to 50 contract employees.

Work Conditions

Field based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver environment, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, and working in confined spaces. Required to respond to plant related emergencies and be available after hours during critical business situations depending on location. Subject to all temperatures, varying weather and road conditions. This position is an on-site role in Anacortes, WA.

Salary Range: The salary range includes the minimum, midpoint, and maximum base salary values. A candidate's offer can vary depending on differentiating factors, including but not limited to education, training, or experience.

This position has a salary minimum of$89,000.00and maximum of$161,800.00.
