Human Resources Intern

HOK is seeking an Intern to join our corporate Human Resources team. Situated in the bustling downtown St. Louis business district, this role involves working alongside top-rated architects, designers, engineers, and our legal, finance, accounting, and HR teams. As an HR Intern, you will work 24 hours per week, specifically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, at our St. Louis office. This position offers the opportunity to explore and assist with a diverse range of responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assist with configuring, testing, reviewing, and maintaining HR systems.
  • Generate reports and analyze HR-related data.
  • Support various HR processes which may include recruiting, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, compensation, benefits, and compliance systems.
  • Work with recruiting team on various projects such as job description updates, recruiting agency contracts, LinkedIn Recruiter searches, and partnering with Communications on employment branding opportunities.
  • Encourage a sustainable workplace by adopting eco-friendly practices.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the department.

  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and upholding business ethics.
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels of employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, stay organized, and pay attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and basic HR functions is preferred.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • High school diploma or equivalent degree required.
  • Currently working towards a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous Human Resources work experience preferred.
