Essential Functions
Assist with the maintenance of employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Assist with onboarding employees, systems entries, and compliance projects. Support employee relations efforts by addressing basic employee inquiries, escalating complex issues to HR professionals, and maintaining confidentiality in sensitive matters. Assist with conducting pre-screen interviews and reference checks and participating in the selection decision-making process. Assist in reviewing and tagging candidates in the recruiting system, deploying marketing campaigns, and managing internship program logistics. Assist in coordinating onboarding and orientation activities for new hires, facilitating an efficient and positive employee experience as they integrate into the organization. Support the performance management process by assisting with the preparation of performance appraisals and tracking performance evaluation timelines. Assist with employee training and development initiatives, including scheduling training sessions, organizing training materials, and tracking employee participation. Provide administrative support in various HR functions, such as preparing HR documents, drafting internal communications, and maintaining HR systems. - Assist with employee engagement initiatives and events, helping to foster a positive and inclusive company culture.
- Assist in preparing benefits communications, enrollment materials, and educational webinar development.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of FMLA, ADA, and state leave documents.
- Support completion of salary survey materials, job description editing, and other compensation-related tasks.
- Participation in the Lunch & Learn internship program provided by the MYR Group Internship Leadership team.
- Prior to the end of their internship, the intern will create and present a self-reflection project detailing their gained industry knowledge, future career goals, as well as personal and professional growth. The presentation will be provided in PowerPoint and presented to their direct management team.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in a Business, Marketing or Human Resources, or other related undergraduate program.
- No experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and tactfully with employees at all organizational levels.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Attention to detail and high accuracy in administrative tasks.
- Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office Suite, HRIS, or other HR software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality, establish rapport with employees, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of HR principles and practices, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
WHAT WE OFFER
Benefits of an internship with MYR Group:
- Salary $18.00-$22.00 / hour
- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
