Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree in related discipline and 5 years of related experience or equivalent years of experience.
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for a controlled billet in accordance with DoD Instruction 5210.42 Nuclear Weapons Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for a controlled billet in accordance with DoD Instruction 5210.42 Nuclear Weapons Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
NOTE: The HSEP field team rotates yearly between assignments based out of Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls Montana, F.E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne Wyoming, and Minot AFB in Minot North Dakota. First location will be Minot AFB in Minot, ND.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION:
- Perform remote field activities associated with evaluating the electronic survivability of the Minuteman weapon system against EMP effects
- Must be willing and able to relocate every year. The HSEP field team rotates yearly between assignments based out of Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls Montana, F.E. Warrant AFB in Cheyenne Wyoming, and Minot AFB in Minot North Dakota.
- Possess or acquire a Top-Secret security clearance and be able to meet all requirements necessary to perform duties under the USAF Personnel Reliability Program
- Start up and operate weapon system components in support of EMP testing
- Set up specialized high voltage test equipment to simulate EMP on the weapon system
- Set up fiber optic and other specialized equipment to capture and record test results
- Prefer candidates who have a basic understanding of electronic principles and some experience using electronic test equipment, probes, meters, and data collection systems is desired Experience using test equipment to troubleshoot and repair faults and anomalies is desirable USAF Minuteman Electro-Mechanical, Facility Maintenance, or Missile Maintenance Team experience is highly desired. Any Technical Engineering experience is also very highly desired
- Experience repairing electronic equipment and soldering highly desirable
- Experience operating Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Office programs is desirable
- Possess a current drivers' license and be physically capable of operating larger vehicles for extended trips
- Experience with hazardous winter driving conditions preferred

The physical requirements for the position include:
- Must be able to be on their feet for extended periods while setting up/operating test equipment, running power cables, etc.
- Must be able to carry and set up heavy equipment and raise/lower that equipment with a rope or hoist
- Must be able to work in small, confined areas requiring twisting and occasionally crawling or laying on floor
- Must be able to ascend/descend 25' ladder at the LF many times a day
- Must be able to ascend/descend 40' ladder at the LCC if elevator fails or in an emergency
- Must be able to climb steep steps to gain access to equipment trailers
Target salary range: USD $36.92/Hr. - USD $39.60/Hr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
