Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

Progeny Systems, a business area within the General Dynamics Mission Systems company, is a high-tech business focusing on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing. We deliver architectures, designs, testing, and production of the current and next generation torpedo guidance and control systems for the Department of Defense providing the warfighter with advanced capabilities in target detection, acquisition, and prosecution. We are a technology leader in numerous areas including technology insertion; acoustic sensors; signal processing; guidance; cyber security; and high reliability systems.

As an ASIC FPGA Design Engineer, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for product design from system architecture and requirements allocation through product release and production of cost-sensitive secure products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, verify, and document custom integrated circuits (ASIC) and programmable logic devices (FPGA)
  • Develop architecture and detailed design plans, and perform system simulations
  • Define module interfaces and all device design aspects
  • Evaluate design processes including synthesis, place and route, and power utilization
  • Create and execute test and simulation plans to ensure functionality and performance
  • Verifies test results and analyzes performance
  • Reviews vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries and simulation tools

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Quick learner with strong understanding of ASIC/FPGA responsibilities
  • Capable of handling complex assignments independently
  • Strong ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound ASIC/FPGA design topics
  • Proactive in project execution with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Workplace Options:

This position is fully on-site. You will be a part of the Canonsburg, Pennsylvania facility.

Target salary range: USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $95,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
