Job Summary
The Layout Engineer is responsible for the physical layout of pSemi's handset, wireless infrastructure, and broadband integrated circuits. Product lines include a broad variety of functions, including high-performance sensors for barometric pressure, magnetic, gas, gyro, and accelerometers, multi-throw RF switches, digital step attenuators, mixers, amplifiers, prescalers, DC-DC converters and PLLs. The candidate will be a key contributor to our growing product portfolio based on pSemi's proprietary UltraCMOS process technology. The Layout Engineer will work closely with global design teams in pSemi. This position will be in our India Design Center in Chennai, India.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
* Development of critical module level layout and full chip integration support.
* Take complete ownership of Assigned Layout tasks.
* Responsible for on-time delivery of block-level layouts.
* Optimizing the layouts based on performance and Area.
* Floor planning & die size estimation.
* Verify and clean DRC/LVS/ERC/ANT checks for layouts.
* Ability to understand design constraints and implement high-quality layouts.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills):
* 0-3 years of related Analog Layout experience.
* Should have knowledge of device physics and process/fabrication technology.
* Understanding of Deep Submicron issues and layout techniques.
* Good understanding of Analog Layout concepts and fundamentals (e.g., Module based floorplan techniques, Device Matching, Routing techniques(power/signal), Shielding, Electro-migration, Latch-up, coupling, crosstalk, ESD concepts and layout guidelines, IR-drop, active and passive parasitic devices etc.).
* Understanding of layout impacts on the design such as speed, capacitance, power and area etc.
* Understanding of layout-dependent effects (WPE, LOD, STI) and how to mitigate them for precision circuits.
* Working knowledge in Cadence Virtuoso environment and PVS for Physical Verification checks.
* Self-motivated, team oriented, and ability to work in diverse areas in a flexible and dynamic environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across distributed teams.
Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
