Head Men's Basketball Coach

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Identify, recruit and retain qualified student-athletes

• Hire and supervise part-time Assistant Coaches

• Establish a competitive schedule

• Plan team travel

• Coordinate practice plans to foster skill development

• Mentor student-athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth

• Oversee development initiatives; manage budgets, design coaching strategies to prepare team for competition

• Establish and enforce rules of conduct; support community service efforts; demonstrate a commitment to diversity

• Collaborate with athletic and University units to include admissions, financial aid, medical services, academic support, student-athlete services, compliance office

• Plan and execute team fundraisers to support the needs of the program

• Demonstrate adherence to University, United East, and NCAA rules and regulations, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher plus 3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's degree plus intercollegiate coaching experience; experience as a head coach, demonstrated knowledge of all phases of the game is preferred.

This position requires successful completion of the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.

This is an 83.3% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Will work from August through May each year (months off subject to change). Full Penn State benefits included. Requires CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. Must have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, travel with team and holidays.
