JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Abington is seeking a full-time Head Men's Basketball Coach to administer all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III basketball program. This position is responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of the Penn State Abington varsity men's basketball team in support of the mission and core values of the Athletic Department/University. The Head Men's Basketball Coach collaborates with numerous athletic and University units and demonstrates adherence to University, conference, and NCAA Division III rules and regulations. The Head Coach will also serve as a game manager for selected athletic department events during the fall and winter sports seasons. Duties include but are not limited to:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher plus 3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's degree plus intercollegiate coaching experience; experience as a head coach, demonstrated knowledge of all phases of the game is preferred. This position requires successful completion of the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances. This is an 83.3% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Will work from August through May each year (months off subject to change). Full Penn State benefits included. Requires CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
