Overview

Waters | Wyatt Technology is currently seeking a Senior Application Scientist to support the Biopharma Applications Group at our Santa Barbara, CA, facility. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and Customer Support to develop complete solutions using Waters and Wyatt Technology light scattering hardware and software products. Application Scientists take on many roles and face exciting challenges understanding customer applications and providing innovative, powerful solutions to make them successful in their workflow.



Responsibilities

    Discover, promote, and support emerging customer applications. Uncover unmet needs and develop solutions to drive customer success through Waters products.
  • Conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to develop applications for key analyses and markets (e.g., gene therapy, biologics, and vaccines). Synthesize and present results of feasibility studies to prospective customers and in support of product development.
  • Create and present application-based content for Application Notes, Workshops, Webinars, Conferences to educate potential customers and help drive sales.
  • Contribute to the development and validation of internal and external training materials, including participation in Wyatt's Light Scattering University.
  • Act as stakeholder in critical programs across the organization and provide subject matter expertise and voice of customer.
  • Guide and mentor junior scientists and team members.


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years related experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Wyatt instrument and software experience (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize time in a fast-moving environment, to work well independently and in a team setting, and to think critically about all aspects of a project to drive it to completion
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

The general base pay for this position ranges from $109,000-$145,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
