Posting Summary |
The successful candidate will be a national and international leader to develop, direct, coordinate and orchestrate a Center devoted to the establishment of Rutgers Health (
RH) as a leader in performance and data coordination of multisite clinical trials and observational studies.
RH has successfully established national programs in translational research and cancer research with the successful and continued funding of both The New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science (
NJ ACTS)-an alliance among Rutgers, Princeton,
NJIT and RWJBarnabas Health System, the only
CTSA Hub in New Jersey-as well as the Rutgers Cancer Institute (the only
NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Program in New Jersey). These substantial programs provide unprecedented resources for the development of world-class clinical research programs across the state and beyond. The growth of clinical research across Rutgers Health has been meteoric and we are poised to expand our capabilities to include the coordination of national clinical research networks. To that end, we seek to recruit an experienced candidate who can accomplish this task.
Rutgers Health is seeking an experienced scientist to lead the Clinical and Data Coordinating Center (
CDCC). This individual will procure, manage and coordinate
NIH-funded and industry sponsored networks and multicenter trials and cohort studies. Additionally, he/she will leverage current staff and recruit database administrators, data managers, software developers, project managers, clinical monitors, scientists, and research administrators.
The Director will be jointly appointed as an Associate or Full Professor in an appropriate department within Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and/or School of Public Health and as a senior member of Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science (
RITMS). Rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have a M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The Director will work closely with the
RITMS Director to run the
CDCC effectively by streamlining operations and budgets and implementing new ideas. The
CDCC Director will collaborate with clinician-scientists across Rutgers Health to identify opportunities for sponsored research, and on the submission of applications for their funding. Generous salary and start-up support are available.
Resources for the Director of Clinical and Data Coordinating Center:
The
Clinical and Data Coordinating Center (CDCC) will be established within the Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science (
RITMS). The Director of the
CDCC will report to Dr. Reynold Panettieri, Vice Chancellor for Translational Medicine and Science. The
CDCC will be provided financial management and administrative support through the
RITMS. Expectantly, the
CDCC will leverage the current established NJ
ACTS Cores concerning Regulatory Affairs and Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design. Additionally, the
CDCC Director will have access to the resources and personnel of the Clinical Trials Office, a Chancellor-supported office that coordinates all aspects of clinical research through 5 clinical research units geographically located across NJ, OnCore Enterprise (a Clinical Trials Management System) and Deep6 (a
NLP/AI/ML structured and unstructured cohort builder using our Epic
EHR).
Startup resources will also be provided to recruit a team designed by the Director.
