Job Objective:
Act as Facilities Engineer to manage all project phases including: plan, design, cost estimates, manage implementation and construction, facility drawings, etc. They will engage and manage outside facility engineering support on an as needed basis. Additionally, they will model & develop optimizations projects across the asset to increase production and reduce operating expenses.
  • Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Self-perform full cycle scoping, preliminary design, cost estimating, detailed design, economic analysis, and evaluation of production facilities and other systems that impact production facilities.
  • Obtains bids and coordinates equipment and personnel for the field operations.
  • Capable of demonstrating effective people skills to interact with partners, service providers, peers and support staff and field and wellsite personnel.
  • Must be willing and capable of effectively soliciting ideas from all people that are involved in the project to maintain a high degree of efficiency and "ownership" to meet the goals of the projects and the company.
  • Supervises and approves facility modifications, installation, decommissioning, and other related work as well as monitoring costs.
  • Engage and manage outside facilities engineering support (consultants and/or Engineering firms) on an as-needed basis, as agreed with the Asset Team Manager.
  • Ensure alignment with Hilcorp policies and practices and applicable codes, recommended practices, and all government regulations.
  • Support operations staff in evaluation and optimization of existing equipment.
  • Support marketing, engineering and operations staff in other tasks as may be assigned.
  • Must be willing and available to travel to field locations on a regular basis, or as needed.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight and by large and small commercial aircraft, helicopter, boat and vehicles as required.

  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
  • Willing and able to travel to operations location for multiple days to oversee, inspect and design associated projects.

  • Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years minimum oil and gas experience with broad facilities engineering experience in the upstream industry, including front-end engineering, design, estimating, and field project execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an integrated team of reservoir engineers, geoscientists and development planners and business analysts.
  • Experience in the areas of cost estimating, budgeting, scheduling, planning, and contracting.
  • Experience with low/high pressure gas, oil, CO2, H2S, water, and sand production.
  • Experience in reading and in creating block flow diagrams, P&IDs, data sheets, and specifications.
  • Experience with pipelines, flowlines, separation, compression, sweetening, water handling, SCADA, electric power, chemical injection, metering and instrumentation.
  • Ability in developing self-directed teams to meet performance goals.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong, dynamic team leadership skills.
  • Ability to solve problems accurately and exceptional proficiency in interpreting production related data. Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Thorough understanding of equipment design, fabrication and installation practices including offshore facilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with special ability to translate complex technical information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Self-starter with proven leadership skills, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to developing workforce.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and industry regulations for oil and gas facilities, including familiarity with North Slope of Alaska.
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to learn company specific applications.
  • Outstanding management, administrative and organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and driving record free of violations in order for company to secure automobile insurance for the employees.
  • Education Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in mechanical, chemical, civil, electrical, or petroleum engineering.
  • Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid State Driver's License.
