Audio Visual Technician

At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. DMU is seeking an Audio Visual (AV) Technician to maintain and optimize AV and related technology systems in our classrooms, simulation rooms, and meeting spaces. This role involves helping users with audio/visual technology, maintaining equipment, and providing timely troubleshooting. It requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused approach.

What you'll do:

AV OPERATIONS

  • Monitor and maintain AV systems across campus.
  • Test and evaluate system performance regularly.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Manage asset and equipment lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with AV vendors for new installations and repairs.

INCIDENT RESPONSE

  • Provide positive customer service for successful class sessions and events.
  • Quickly respond to technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot using expertise in network-based control, video, audio systems, and Zoom.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum high school degree required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience managing and troubleshooting audio/visual technology.
  • Experience with video conferencing, IP-based switching hardware, audio DSP setup and calibration is required. Zoom, Evertz, Dante and QSC experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office required.
  • Experience with multimedia equipment and videography strongly preferred.
