Position Summary: The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing CAM methodologies, creating solutions for highly technical problems, simplify setup procedures, tooling integration and create standard practices to improve the processes used in the making of CNC programs. Essential/Key Functions:
- Create CNC machining programs from 3D models using CAD/CAM software.
- Create Setup drawings and instructions.
- Select cutting tools used in the CAM programs.
- Lead and/or participates in process improvement initiatives.
- Work with shop to improve the machining process.
- Design or suggest fixture and tooling requirements.
- Monitor progress on development project issues and expedites completion as
- required to support internal schedules.
- Recommend and support new capital equipment projects.
- Other duties, assignments or projects as needed and assigned.
Competencies:
- Proficiency using Cad, PTC Creo, and or equivalent model-based CAM Programming System.
- Experience using Simulation software used in the CNC Manufacturing process.
- Experience working with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems.
- Knowledge of GD&T, ANSI, and ISO Engineering Standards.
- Strong experience with root cause quality issues that surface in a product manufacturing operation.
- Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced product-manufacturing environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of CAD/CAM, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
- Associate degree in manufacturing engineering, 2 + years of CNC programming experience in metal cutting, or combination of education and related experience.
- Background working with Lathes, Drills, Mills, Grinders, Heat Treat, and Welding equipment.
