Creative Director - Copywriter

The CD Copywriter will be responsible for conceptualizing and writing results-oriented advertising and marketing content for agency projects across all mediums including, but not limited to, digital, social, print, collateral, radio, broadcast, and experiential.

The CD CW must be persuasive in presenting and selling concepts to internal teams, senior company leaders and clients. The person in this role will establish marketing strategies and must be able to create highly creative products based off brand strategy. This is a position for a curious, driven, results oriented, and highly creative individual with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage deadlines, and produce highly effective creative.

Responsibilities:



  • Leads and inspires teams in developing and selling big ideas
  • Ensures creative executions meet the highest standard of craftsmanship
  • Effectively positions and sells creative with persuasive rationale grounded in project objectives, strategies and budgets
  • Reviews and approves creative work before presentations internally and to client
  • Develops relationships and maintains contact with key clients
  • Approves creative briefs as prepared by strategy team
  • Oversees work assignments and ensures communication and interaction with other departments and clients
  • Guides and manages the ACD, AD and CW teams
  • Negotiates with Account Management to set priorities when scheduling/timetable conflicts develop among assignments and creative staff
  • Works with the Creative Resource team to select and assign resources as Contributes to new business proposals across all stages, from initial concept development to final pitch preparation. This includes crafting compelling written responses to creative questions.

  • Participates in new business pitch work including preparation of copy content for proposal decks
  • Adopts management posture in representing the agencies interest in interaction with clients, staff, outside vendors and other contacts
  • Participates in recruitment efforts for the department by reviewing portfolios and interviewing candidates as requested by the Creative Resource personnel
  • Stays current with industry/advertising trends and apply them strategically



Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience in a creative leadership role, preferably in an agency environment
  • Minimum two years' experience in creative partnership with an Art Director
  • Strong portfolio showcasing experience in multiple mediums (print, digital, social, and experiential) and industries
  • Ability to manage and inspire a team of creatives, including Art Directors, Designers, and Production Artists
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with account and strategy teams to ensure that all work meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Proficiency in deck building software like Microsoft PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent management skills and strong leadership potential
  • Adaptable and able to handle changes in briefs, priorities, and edits
  • Passion for learning and self-improvement
  • Proactive and a self-starter
  • Positive attitude and ability to work under tight deadlines
