Description

TheData and Analytics Intern will join the Enterprise Data & Analytics team to support the development of business process automation, assist with data management tasks, and contribute to the transformation of the team's analytics processes. This internship will provide exposure to the technical aspects of data and analytics operations, helping to shift the focus from a developer-centric to a customer-centric approach.

The intern will assist in key initiatives across the Data & Analytics team, engaging in activities related to data integrity, data modeling, and integration efforts, as well as using relevant technologies. As projects progress through the Refinement, Implementation, and Delivery stages, the intern will develop technical skills and contribute to delivering value across the organization.

In addition, the Intern will meet with internal clients and stakeholders, business constituents, subject matter experts, and analysts to gather requirements, understand business needs, and build solutions as applicable. They will also hone communication and presentation skills by creating User Stories, building documentation, and showcasing solutions, completing the full project lifecycle (design inception through delivery) for various efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Willingness to gain exposure across a wide range of technology roles and responsibilities (including but not limited to QA/testing, business analysis, data & analytics)
  • Willingness to gain exposure and competency across a wide range of technology platforms used across the eMoney back office (including but not limited to PowerBI AWS Redshift, Looker, Jira, Confluence)
  • Support Enterprise Data & Analytics team on process and data mapping, requirements elicitation and translation into User Stories, User Acceptance Testing scripts and execution, and more as needed
  • Partner withcross-functional,operationalteams to fast-track data definitions, governance initiatives, and clean-up
  • Support the Data & Analytics team in communicating complex data operations, data relationships and their business impacts to multiple business partners and stakeholders, through data storytelling skills
  • Work to identify and diagnose data inconsistencies and errors, forages to fill data gaps
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, application users, and program owners

Requirements

  • Working towards bachelor's degree-computer science, information systems, or data and analytics preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • Seeks out innovative approaches and techniques
  • Curious about data,acquires structured and unstructured data and prepares it for analysisprobes for hidden questions or anomalies, attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SQL
  • Ability to create new and modify existing standard reports or queries to help identify data operations issues and solutions for data quality
  • Basic knowledge or experience with any programming language
  • Comfortable preparingandparticipating in thedelivery ofpresentations and action recommendationsthat communicate complex material in layman's terms, guidingbusinessownerson the interpretation, implications and use of analytic results.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00-$24.00; commensurate rate to be determined based on skills, professional background and expertise.
