Clinical Coordinator Adjunct, Part-Time

The Opportunity

The School of Teacher Education in the College of Community Innovation & Education (CCIE) seeks experienced and qualified education administrators and teachers to join our team of part-time, clinical adjunct faculty. Clinical adjuncts will supervise elementary, early childhood, exceptional, secondary and K-12 education student candidates during their formal internship at schools throughout the Central Florida community. The adjunct will promote growth in teaching practice through face-to-face, online and/or remote observations, offer descriptive feedback on execution of practice, content knowledge, applied skills and professional responsibilities as well as act as liaison between the College and the field, promoting respect for others and for cultural and linguistic differences. Prior K-12 teaching experience is required. The position offers flexible scheduling.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ability to supervise college level interns at specific district school sites during traditional school hours.
• Ability to meet STE unit requirements and deadlines for observations set-up, implementation, and review.
• Ability to travel to site locations.
• Observe and gather assessment data on lessons conducted by interns.
• Conduct midpoint and final evaluations.
• Familiarity and comfort with Technology (Microsoft, Adobe, Zoom).
• Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the cooperating school and/or district.
• Maintain effective communication with the Supervising Teacher and STE Internship Experiences Coordinator.
• Keep accurate records on the teacher candidate.
• Act as a resource person to the teacher candidate by providing additional sources of information and by being available through phone, email, or Zoom.

Minimum Qualifications by the time of hire:

• An earned master's degree from an accredited institution in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, K-12 Reading Education, Early Childhood & Development Education, Exceptional Student Education, K-8 Math Science Education, Reading Education or a closely related field.
• Kindergarten to grade Twelve (K-12) teaching experience (3+ years)

Preferred Qualifications:

A highly qualified individual will have strong teaching, supervision, and interpersonal skills in addition to:

• A terminal degree from an accredited institution in Elementary Education, Early Childhood and Development Education, Secondary Education or K-12 Education (Including English Language Arts Education, Social Science Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Exceptional Student Education, Reading Education, Art Education, Physical Education, World Languages Education) or a closely related degree at the posting close date.
• Kindergarten to grade Twelve (K-12) teaching experience (6+ years).
• Experience in successfully teaching post-secondary undergraduate or graduate courses.
• Experience as a supervising teacher to student teachers/interns.
• Experience coordinating interns.
• Experience teaching online courses.
• Experience working with the Canvas online platform.
• Professional experience as a school administrator and/or program lead.
• An earned reading and ESOL endorsement.

Clinical adjuncts will be expected to have reliable transportation to travel to school sites during traditional school hours as needed. They will also need to have access to current technology, including internet and necessary computer equipment (e.g., speakers, microphones, headsets, computer monitor) to conduct virtual observations and video conferences. Possible travel within the Central Florida area including Seminole, Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Volusia, and Lake counties.
