Position Summary
The Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development ( FALD) is seeking a motivated Research Assistant. FALD exists to support the development of faculty members at UNC School of Medicine ( SOM) and to provide resources to assure their academic success. Our office oversees programs and activities directed at all ranks of our faculty, including tenured, tenure-track, research and clinical faculty. Programs and services include leadership programming, career development programming for early career faculty, and a professional development series, among many others. The office strives to be a leader in the development, implementation, delivery, and assessment of faculty affairs and leadership development programs. Research and evaluation in FALD primarily focuses on topics related to faculty development, leadership development, and faculty affairs. Our work utilizes best practices in quantitative and qualitative research as well as program evaluation. We strive to provide insights that are highly relevant to the practices of faculty development, leadership development, and faculty affairs. The Research Assistant will have the opportunity to contribute to evaluation efforts, internal reports, and scholarly endeavors.

As a Research Assistant, you will primarily work on research and evaluation projects with our Director of Research and Evaluation.

The primary functions of this role are as follows:
Clean and analyze quantitative datasets, including survey results
Participate in logistical activities related to survey research and evaluation such as project management tasks, survey development, and report creation
Edit reports for accuracy and readability
Assist with special projects on request of the Director of Research and Evaluation, including opportunities to join research project teams
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
Interest in working in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Working knowledge of Qualtrics, Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, STATA
