Job Overview
Under direction of the Service Order Manager, the General Maintenance Worker (Pest Control/IAQ) will receive both Pest and IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) related work orders and/or service calls. The incumbent will either perform the needed services and/or coordinate the schedule with the Customer to have Sub-contractor inspect and treat the area. Pay Rate: $30.55/hourly Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Receives both Pest and IAQ related work orders and/or service calls.
- Act as first responder to all Pest and IAQ related work orders and/or service calls. Depending on the nature of the call, the incumbent will perform the needed services and/or coordinate the schedule with the Customer to have the Sub-contractor treat the area.
- Install needed traps and bait stations for pest related issues
- Remove activated traps and properly dispose of trap
- Addresses any structural concerns identified by Sub-contractor to include, but not limit to, patching holes, installing wire mesh, removing trash, etc.
- Survey the room to limit the impact on the Customer (Sub-contractor may be un-cleared). After the survey, notify Sub-contractor of the locations of the needed traps
- Follows up with the Customer and check traps on a routine basis.
- Sets gel bait stations for common pest issues (ants, gnats, flies, etc.) Routinely monitors all bait stations and refresh when needed.
- Assist Sub-contractor to capture birds.
- Assisting the IAQ Superintendent to perform IAQ inspections for mold, lead paint and asbestos as needed
- Work with the Environmental Superintendent for remediation solutions
- Escorts Sub-contractor on a daily basis.
- Captures all work performed on a Work Order Back Sheet.
- Communicates daily with the Customer to ensure a high level of Customer service by immediately contacting POCs and sets up a time to visit the area.
- Prepares Service Requests for mold, lead, asbestos, kitchen hoods and exhaust systems.
- Plan, organize work and meet all deadlines. Able to do a variety of tasks in any single day.
- Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.
- Able to inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective repairs.
- May occasionally be required to operate Government or Chugach-owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment.
- Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task. Help perform periodic stock inventories and prepare material requisitions for replacement items.
- Will be required to perform file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering.
- Support and assist other trade groups and department staff as needed or directed.
- Adheres to the established CISL safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High School graduate or equivalent GED.
- Six (6) months experience working in a Pest Control environment.
- Obtain and maintain certifications for courses consisting of Asbestos Awareness, Lead Awareness and Mold Inspection and Assessment.
- Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Medically and physically able to wear a respirator.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
- Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
