Key Position Details: Main scope of role includes:
- Epic medication-related content that is shared across all Allina and Affiliate inpatient and ambulatory settings (i.e., ERX, Orderable, CNR) and quality assurance process owner in partnership with clinical pharmacy, operations, safety and pharmacy IT team.This includes coordinating and facilitating bi-weekly meetings to review content, provide guidance on best practices or Allina standards, maintain documentation of build/changes, and oversee quality assurance of build following completion by IS.
- Infusion pump system support for drug libraries (in collaboration with other pharmacy leaders) and operational expertise in partnership with nursing, IT and other departments. This includes participation in special projects such as implementation of EMR/IV pump interoperability.
- Other projects as assigned from pharmacy leadership.
Additional role requirements:
- Current Epic Proficiency Certification or commitment to work towards it immediately upon hire.
- Remote position - Must be located within commuting distance of Allina Commons to attend occasional onsite meetings
- Full time position (80 hours every two-week period)
- 8-hour, day shifts
- No required weekend rotation
Job Description: Leads, facilitates and coordinates strategic, operational and clinical processes to support the ongoing management and growth of pharmacy services. Supports concept design, strategic planning and business development for new programs and clinical services. Supports general service line development including coordination of initiatives, management of existing programs and services.
Principle Responsibilities
- Develops current and new pharmacy programs and services.
- Develops and executes strategic planning and business development for programs and services.
- Provides oversight for the implementation of new and existing programs and services.
- Coordinates pharmacy activities across the system.
- Partners with leadership to plan, implement and manage operational and clinical initiatives and tactical plans, tracking operations performance against key performance indicators.
- Completes dashboards and reporting templates to highlight performance including variances.
- Develops business plans for new programs, services and markets or to enhance existing programs in order to grow the services.
- Conducts best practice research, industry trends and market analysis to support business plan development.
- Summarizes analyses, conclusions and recommendations and supporting presentation documents.
- Manages relationships with leaders, care teams, and external partners to gain confidence and engagement in strategic and operational initiatives.
- Participates in decision making activities with executive management, internal and external stakeholders.
- Plans and implements programs and services.
- Assures local and system-wide implementation of established guidelines, policies and procedures in partnership with local land other departmental leaders.
- Works with staff and care teams to develop and implement objectives for the provision of safe and effective patient care.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of policies and procedures and make recommendations for change.
- Identifies and recommends opportunities to impact performance trends favorably.
- Facilitates education to the staff, patients, families and public as needed.
- Manages projects and performance improvement initiatives.
- Provides performance improvement methodology to design solutions.
- Performs data collection and analysis.
- Completes process flow analysis with input from key stakeholders.
- Identifies performance improvement opportunities and assist in design solutions.
- Develops key performance indicators and measures.
- Formulates and presents deliverables to executive management and internal and external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degreeBachelor's degree in Pharmacy or
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degreeDoctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Pharmacy
- 2 to 5 years of pharmacist experience
- 2 to 5 years of health system pharmacy leadership experience for hospital and retail/outpatient
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed Pharmacist - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire
- Residency and/or Fellowship preferred
- Pharmacotherapy Certification or other specialty area preferred upon hire

Pay Range
Pay Range: $64.63 to $89.43 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
