Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Short Pulse Laser Radiation Testing Technician to support our contract in the Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is seeking a motivated self-starter who is interested in joining an award-winning company and working with cutting edge technologies in the defense of the United States. The selected candidate will be a temporary on call (TOC) member of our dynamic Huntsville team and will work on essential activities to manage and assess the effectiveness of programs critical to the United States Missile Defense Agency and other DoD customers.

Our team supports the Missile Defense Agency and its industry partners for the survivability of military systems when subjected to the effects of nuclear weapons. The effects to be survived are determined through the use of accepted models and simulations developed by the Defense nuclear survivability Community of Interest. Our PeopleTec employee-owners are key members of a survivability team that integrates modeling and simulation (M&S), subject matter expertise, and analysis across the development life cycle for MDA and other US government systems. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of design principals critical to mission survivability of missile defense systems designed to survive and operate in/through nuclear environments.

Duties Include:

    Understanding and assisting in the development of solutions to support emerging needs in a dynamic environment
  • Assist with the planning and execution of Pulsed Laser Single Event Effects testing of electronic integrated circuits.
  • Assist in the design and execution of experiments to determine radiation hardness of off-the-shelf microelectronic components
  • Assist in the design and completion of fundamental research related to improving the state of the art in laser testing of microelectronic radiation hardness
  • Contribute to articles for publication in leading technical journals reporting on the procedures and results for testing conducted
  • Communicating written and oral test results to customer and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders on system designs, requirements, data analysis, and documentation of results


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in M&S using community-standard laser propagation modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with common programming languages (e.g., C/C++/C#, Java)
  • Familiar with current DoD and military standards associated with various effects of nuclear weapons.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to quickly learn new computing hardware, software and technologies.
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaboratively work in a team environment.
  • Ideal candidate should be a self-starter and problem solver who can efficiently manage time and expectations.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years undergraduate study in any science or engineering discipline leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
