Job Summary

The Faculty Human Resource Manager manages faculty recruitment, hiring, and onboarding. This position addresses faculty inquiries and ensures compliance with policies and procedures related to appointment, reappointment, promotion, tenure, reviews and salary adjustments.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Manage appointments, reappointments, and onboarding of faculty, including drafting offer letters and agreements for faculty, postdocs, and scholars.

Job Duty 2-
Review for compliance and process employment-related personnel transactions.

Job Duty 3 -
Maintain accurate, current records and tracking throughout the faculty lifecycle.

Job Duty 4 -
Ensure compliance with academic policies and regulations by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records related to faculty employment and credentials.

Job Duty 5 -
Assist with reappointment, promotion, tenure, and review processes.

Job Duty 6 -
Manage visa processes, including maintaining status of employees on work visas and maintaining communication with involved parties.

Job Duty 7 -
Provide support and guidance to faculty members regarding employment-related inquiries.

Job Duty 8 -
Stay informed of changes in higher education regulations and best practices affecting faculty employment to ensure that the institution remains compliant and competitive.

Job Duty 9 -
Utilize HRIS, applicant tracking systems (ATS), payroll software, and other relevant software and databases to process faculty records, generate reports, and analyze HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Three or more years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and faculty hiring practices
  • Experience with faculty recruitment, onboarding, and retention
  • Understanding of tenure, promotion, and performance review processes
  • Familiarity with academic contracts, benefits, and compensation structures
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems)
  • Ability to analyze HR metrics and faculty workforce trends
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and payroll software
  • Commitment to ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of and ability to apply Institute policies and procedures that govern faculty administration; demonstrated experience in faculty employment including appointments, promotion, and tenure.

SKILLS
Candidates should be skilled in verbal and written communications, interpersonal interactions, organization, customer service, analytical skills, and planning; basic knowledge of computer related office applications and database systems.

Salary range: $63,303.00-$90,167.00
