Department Information

Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) serves the Institute and its more than 14,000 employees through strategic counsel, employee engagement, and essential human capital management operations. As the people's unit, GTHR is engaged throughout the employee's lifetime at Georgia Tech. Our team works with sensitive employee information and assists in the management of complex employee issues. Professionalism and confidence are of the utmost importance within our team.

What we do:
  • Process payroll and maintain employment data for approximately 14,000 active faculty, staff, and students
  • Strive to attract, recruit, and retain the best talent in the marketplace.
  • Provide immigration, labor, and tax support required for foreign national faculty and staff to work at Georgia Tech and support employees performing services overseas.
  • Leverage a market-driven compensation structure to attract and retain employees.
  • Advise employees and managers regarding work performance and conflict management.
Job Summary

The Organizational Design Specialist will coordinate and support the application of organizational design, change management, and talent management strategies that target Institute and unit-level challenges and priorities.

  • This position will interact on a regular basis with Campus HR partners, campus people managers and leaders, OHR leadership, and staff.
  • This position typically will advise and counsel Campus HR Partners OHR partners.
  • This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities

Job Duty 1: Create materials and tools to support the campus in planning, leading, and implementing talent strategy, including organizational design and reorganizations

Job Duty 2: Support the implementation of projects, surveys, programs, and other organizational talent initiatives for the Institute

Job Duty 3: Support the development of implementation, change management, and communication plans for talent strategy recommendations provided for Institute and/or unit challenges and priorities

Job Duty 4: Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to identify, define, and create solutions for Institute and unit talent strategy challenges

Job Duty 5: Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to isolate and resolve organizational and talent challenges

Job Duty 6: Support the development of project documentation such as project scope agreements, status reports, assessment tools (such as surveys or interview guides), assessment reports, improvement roadmaps, and other documents to assist senior consultants and other members of project teams

Job Duty 7: Advise and support Campus HR partners in implementing restructures, reconfigurations, and reorganizations

Job Duty 8: Lead small-scale or elements of larger units and/or Institute level reorganizations or organizational design engagements, as instructed

Job Duty 9: Perform other related job duties assigned

Required Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience:

One to three years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field

Additional Preferred Qualifications

One to three years of work experience in organization design, training in organization design, or direct experience in Human Resources (including Recruiting /Talent Acquisition)

Proposed Salary

Pay Range: $55,029-$75,00/yr.
