Basic Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

Clearance Requirements:

Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

As a Senior Optics Engineer, you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for the design/analysis, build, and testing of telecommunications networks, free-space optical systems, and LIDAR systems. You will be interacting with device, hardware and software design teams to assist in the overall development of optical systems; specifying, selecting and qualifying active and passive optical components, developing and benchmarking system performance models, developing and implementing test procedures and/or evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation.

Candidates for this position are expected to demonstrate a high level of technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and mentor teams for future success.

  • Demonstrated experience with the development of LIDAR or LIDAR imaging systems
  • Demonstrated experience working with telecommunications networks and optical signal processing
  • Demonstrated experience with the design and build of free space optical systems for communications

Target salary range: USD $188,634.00/Yr. - USD $196,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
