Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Director is a critical member of the Financial Aid team, providing guidance to undergraduate and graduate students in all aspects of financing a Loyola University education.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide excellent customer service to students and parents via phone, e-mail, walk-in, and other forms of engagement regarding all financial aid matters
  • Conducts file review, preforms professional judgement, completes verification, and updates award packaging as required
  • Monitors/maintains application statuses within the student information system
  • Access federal and state systems (COD, NSLDS, GAP Access, FSA, etc.) to verify student aid eligibility
  • Supports the Financial Aid Office by managing specific program area(s) such as R2T4, SAP, FWS, Scholarships, Consortium, Veterans, etc.
  • Supports the University through presentations to various public audiences including FAFSA workshops, financial wellness programs, orientations, and other admission events.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to provide a holistic approach to service
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field and three - five years of related experience, or a combination of education and work experience . A solid knowledge of federal and state regulations is essential.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Must be able to work with a diverse student population
  • Ability to think critically with an eye for detail
  • Adaptable to change
  • Must be able to work as part of a diverse team
  • Support students and families from all backgrounds
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • PeopleSoft experience highly preferred.

Proficiency with Department of Education databases; COD, NSLDS, FAA Access, SAIG. PeopleSoft experience highly preferred.
