Overview

BAI, a Defense contractor, seeks candidates to serve as a Program Manager with 3+ years of experience who will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and execution of Aircraft Survivability Equipment products designed for military tactical aircraft. This position requires close coordination with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, and sales to bring innovative, user-centric products to market. The Program Manager will play a key role supporting Product Leads who have responsibility for the product portfolio, as well as mentoring and developing a team of Product Owners, ensuring their growth and success within the organization.

Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00 USD to $120,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.



Responsibilities

    Define and champion product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with overall business objectives and the unique needs of military air crews.
  • Conduct market research, customer analysis, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and unmet needs within the military aviation sector.
  • Support Product Owners to develop and manage the product backlog, prioritizing features based on value, effort, and strategic alignment with mission-critical requirements
  • Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria that reflect unique perspectives and the specific workflows and challenges faced by aircrews in operational flight
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and QA throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of robust, reliable, and user-friendly solutions for aircrews
  • Work with advanced product teams to develop high-value features and to meet emergent capability needs of military aviation users
  • Analyze project performance metrics and gather user feedback to identify areas for improvement and iterate on the product roadmap to maintain program efficiency and deliver quality products on schedule
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies relevant to military aviation and aircrew operations
  • Be an advocate for military aircrews, representing their needs and ensuring the product not only meets but exceeds their expectations in demanding operational environments
  • Mentor and coach a team of Product Owners, providing guidance on product management best practices, prioritization, stakeholder management, and product development processes specific to the military aviation domain
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, communication, and continuous learning within the product team, emphasizing a deep understanding of aircrew perspectives and requirements


Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including technical teams and military personnel
  • Data-driven decision-making mindset with experience in analyzing data and drawing actionable insights
  • Experience building great products that solve real user problems and make a tangible difference for military air crews
  • Ability to work independently; self-starter
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Desired:

  • Experience with radar warning receivers, radar jammers, and IR countermeasures used in military aviation contexts
  • Product Management certifications (e.g., PMP, CSPO, PSPO)
  • Prior military experience, particularly in an aircrew role, would be highly valuable
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of FMS programs is a plus

Education:

BS or BA degree in Business Management or a relevant technical discipline.

ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant Associate's Degree.

Clearance:

Condition of employment - must be able to acquire and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Citizenship:
