PRIMARY FUNCTION

Early career designer and a member of the design talent team capable of excelling in a hybrid work environment under the supervision of a project architect and/or project designer and other team members. Works across market sectors to acquire diverse experiences. Adopts project standards to meet performance expectations with direction. Uses graphic skills for project work, pursuits, model building, competitions, and project documentation. Grows technical skills on project production assignments.


TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Support the delivery of professional services as defined by the HED Design Process guidelines under the supervision of the job captain and project architect.
  • Understand the design intent and assist with its documentation.
  • Assist with required code research for project assignments.
  • Assist with material and product research as required for project development.
  • Participate in internal and/or external project meetings as required by scope and schedule.
  • Coordinate with team as directed to provide written documentation where needed.
  • Assist with responding to requests for information and submittal reviews under the direction of the job captain and project architect.
  • Participate in technical reviews through all phases of the project to meet HED expectations for quality and project performance.
  • Participate in the development of graphics, 3D visualization and models for project pursuits and competitions.
  • Support design work with model building and material collection.
  • Perform other assignments as directed by the project team or technical discipline leader.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (four year) degree.
  • Commitment to taking the ARE.
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for sustainable design strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Rhino and preferred experience in BIM software, such as Revit.
  • Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of traveling to and from project sites for attending client, project, and construction meetings.
  • Ability to access existing and new project sites for the purposes of project observation, investigation, and evaluation.
  • Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
