We work with operations to find process improvements to liberate capacity and improve economies. You will also be a part of Novonesis world class scientific community and contribute to our continual build-up of scientific and technical knowledge.

Welcome to Global Optimization within Product and Process Development
We are seeking a hands-on, energetic Research Associate to expand our downstream lab team. You will contribute to Novonesis' build-up in scientific and technical knowledge within downstream processing. Our primary purpose is to have a focused effort on optimization of the downstream production processes to liberate capacity, reduce the variable cost, and improve product quality and robustness.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Analyzing samples using advanced spectroscopic and other techniques

  • Conducting experiments and collecting documents and records as part of our downstream lab team

  • Working with Optimization and Process Engineering to analyze products and make improvements

  • Assist in testing new instruments and lab techniques to advance our understanding of enzyme production

  • Assist with maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment

In this position, you will need to have:

  • BS/MS in a scientific discipline with 1-3 years laboratory experience

  • Experience running spectroscopic instruments and analyzing spectral data

  • Relevant knowledge of typical biochemical lab techniques (SDS-PAGE, UV-VIS, general protein assays)

  • High attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot experiments and lab equipment

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment

  • Experience working with study plans, recording and analyzing data, and presenting results

  • Willingness to learn new techniques and take on new challenges

  • Self-motivation and ability to effectively prioritize work

Location: Franklinton, NC

Expected salary range:$60,000 - $70,000
