Hybrid Role: Requires onsite 3 days a week at the Eatontown, NJ office

Position Summary:

In this role, the PCB Design Engineer will design moderate to complex printed circuit board layout/substrates with Digital, Analog, Power & RF interconnect applications. This includes responsibility for circuit board conceptualization, (CAD implementation by means of Cadence Allegro, Siemens Xpedition or Altium tool sets), detail design activities and value-engineering in support of TTM customer opportunities.

Areas of emphasis/focus include physical design (CAD implementation)/documentation utilizing best practice of electrical IPC standards/methodologies with experienced approach to manufacturing and sustaining maintenance of legacy design projects. Complementary support is provided by a combination of Management, Field Application Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and NPI Manufacturing teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

New business support for Design Engineering-

* PCB/module conceptual design suggestions/trade-oaf's for new opportunities

* PCB/module concept sketches and BOM's for proposal inclusion and

hardware estimating

Electronic circuit assembly electrical physical design-

* Create new and make changes to existing Schematic Diagrams using TTM suite of tools: OrCAD, DxDesigner and/or Altium

* Place and route components ensuring that all electrical and physical specifications meet the specific design requirements for each PCB design utilizing Cadence Allegro/Siemens Xpedition and/or Altium

* Participate in design reviews, interface with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and process engineers to design proto-type and production quality printed circuit boards in accordance with TTM standards and procedures

* Collaborate on assigned projects closely with Si (Signal Integrity) or various engineering disciplines, fellow designers and Program Management

* Provide feedback to design engineers as needed to ensure functionality and manufacturability of PCB designs

* Create fabrication and assembly drawings, parts list, incorporate changes to existing design documentation and create and maintain component libraries

* Generate all output files (ODB++ & pdf of documentation) required for the manufacture of the board and assembly

Industry and TTM-specific electrical standards and methodologies-

* Product safety and EMI consideration during eCAD layout (UL, CSA, NEBS, Etc.)

* Standardization of electrical components and eCAD libraries utilizing IPC or vendor specific standards

* Demonstrated experience with High-Speed (Multi-Gigabit Transmission) & DDR 4 utilizing best routing practices

* Direct design experience related to multi-layer Flex, CCA & Backplane PCB technologies

* Knowledge of substrate unique design and routing methods desirable but not

required

* Current knowledge of -via/HDI layout methodologies and best practices

* Understanding of stack-up materials/construction along with impedance

modeling requirements

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years' experience with primary hands-on knowledge/proficiency of Cadence Allegro/OrCAD (17.4 or later) and Siemen's Xpedition (VX2.14 or later) products required. Altium (AD 24 or later) experience is a plus. Comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering design practices related to printed circuit board electrical drafting and fabrication drawing creation experience is essential. Necessary familiarities with electrical design utilizing IPC standards, IAW IPC-2221/3 and associated specs is critical. Knowledge and methodology utilizing standard IPC Class III approach to design and manufacturing concerns is also necessary. Substrate laminate design exposure is a plus but not required.

* Related PCB design for the Aerospace and Defense sectors is highly desirable.

* Solid oral communication and interfacing skills with technical and manufacturing personnel to resolve engineering tasks. Propose alternatives when faced with challenging PCB design situations including resolutions to non-standard problems.

* Appropriate understanding of vendor component data sheets for creation of schematic library and/or PCB footprints expected.

* Background exposure in Valor DFM TQ (Technical Query) report resolution from associated PCB location and use of CAM software tools (i.e.- Downstream CAM350/Blueprint) highly suggested.

* Availability for occasional overnight/short-notice travel to suppliers, partners and customers.

* Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident

* The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance required

Education: Associates in Electrical Design/Drafting or BS in Electronic Technology. Related eCAD training certification/career experience will be considered in lieu of a degreed program.
