The Psychiatric Institute of Washington is seeking a talented and dynamic Director of Outpatient Services to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals!

The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. PIW is a 130 bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PIW has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Position Summary:

The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for on-site clinical coordination and administrative supervisory functions for IOP/PHP program and traditional outpatient services. The Director will provide direct clinical services to program participants, as well as provide administrative supervision, if necessary, by phone, for issues that may arise outside of business hours. The Director collaborates with the CEO and/or his/her designee in overseeing the management of the program and to problem solve system issues and program crises.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of multidisciplinary team for IOP/PHP program and ensuring that plans are completed and updated in a timely manner- per CMS, TJC and UHS guidelines
  • Ensure that all admission and discharge paperwork is completed, and signed, in a timely manner
  • Ensure that notes to support patient participation in PHP or IOP, and all patient contact/s, are completed, and filed, in a timely fashion. The notes should document medical necessity for the level of care and meet all Regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that patients are participating in treatment as required by their Level of Care and if a change in Level of Care is needed facilitate a treatment plan update between the team and the patient
  • Ensure that insurance benefits, and authorizations, for all patients are verified and updated on a regular basis and entered into Midas
  • Conduct monthly audits of patient records to monitor for compliance of all Program requirements
  • Provide group psychotherapy/psycho-education and case management to program participants.
  • Participation in program development and continuous quality improvement activities
  • Collaboration with program directors and department heads to review and update program policies and procedures as needed

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in behavioral health related field (e.g. social work, counseling, psychology);
  • Advanced Clinical Licensure is required (LICSW, LPC)
  • Minimum three (5) years' experience in delivery of direct clinical services in a behavioral health setting, some portion of which must have included treatment of posttraumatic conditions;
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in behavioral healthcare administrative/supervisory position, duties including program development, utilization review, and provision of direct clinical supervision;
  • Experience in individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, and clinical case management;
  • Patience and calm demeanor in dealing with a variety of personalities of a diverse patient population.
  • Solid leadership skills and the ability and desire to grow personal self-awareness and professional skill set.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hospital systems, including intake/admission procedures, experience working with third party payors preferred, but not required.
