Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Directs performance of all Radiologic Procedures including General Radiography, CT, US, MRI, Mammography , Special Procedures and Nuclear Medicine; Responds to the daily operations of the department; Maintains a staffing plan that meets organizational needs; Maintains a system for reporting results and appropriate billing for the procedures; Responsible for the radiology staff development; Responsible for the hiring ,firing, orientation ,training and evaluation according to established guidelines; Directs quality control and performance improvement activities; Assures compliance with productivity and budgetary standards; Assures compliance with all Regulatory Agencies; Responsible for the Radiation Safety Program; Assesses develops and evaluates departmental goals on a yearly basis; Communicates departmental needs and recommends Capital equipment purchases


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelors degree in business healthcare management or a Bachelors degree in Radiology

2. In lieu of a formal degree, experience and related credentials will be considered

3. Minimum of 8 years hospital experience is preferred with 2 years management experience required

4. Strong interpersonal skills and experience in Team development

5. Knowledge of performance standards as outlined by the ASRT

6. Membership in related professional organization preferred

7. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1. Graduate from a Approved School of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology or College Degree

2. Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist(MRT) in the State of Texas
