LPN- FULL TIME DAYS

River Oaks Hospital, located minutes outside of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 126-bed psychiatric facility that has provided quality treatment to individuals suffering from mental illness and/or addictive disorders since 1970. Situated on a 14-acre campus, inpatient services are available for adults and adolescents. We also offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for adults.

The New Orleans Institute provides specialized services for the treatment of trauma and compulsive behaviors. The Eating Disorders Treatment Center offers a comprehensive program for male and female adults with anorexia, bulimia, and related eating disorders. Both the New Orleans Institute and the Eating Disorders Treatment Center are nationally recognized for their excellence. These programs receive referrals from around the United States and are acknowledged as leading centers in their respective fields.

River Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented LPN- FULL TIME DAYS. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LPN provides physical assessments of residents, implements resident's treatment plan, evaluates response to treatment, provides complete documentation, administers medications as prescribed and provides health care education for residents and families. The LPN supervises the daily duties of the Mental Health Tech staff and assures that all residents are maintained in a safe environment. Performs duties in accordance with the Louisiana Board of Nursing, ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards

Job Duties may include but are not limited to:

• On admission, identifies the resident's needs regarding immunizations, dental care, pain assessment, and other health needs as documented in the medical record.
• Demonstrates ability to recognize signs and symptoms of anxiety and impending behavioral escalation as assessed by supervisor.
• Care given in response to interventions identified on treatment plan are documented in the medical record.
• Actively participates in multidisciplinary team meetings as observed by supervisor
• Correctly administers all medications as evidenced by documentation in the MAR.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Licensure and registration by the Louisiana Board of Nursing as a licensed practical nurse required
• CPR certification
• Good communication skills. Ability to present information and ideas essential to nursing duties and must maintain effective working relationships interdepartmentally, intradepartmental, and with the Medical Staff.
