The UHS Corporate Pharmacy team is hiring a Senior Manager of Pharmacy Operations - Behavioral Health to provides leadership and guidance to the Behavioral Health Care Facilities within UHS in all areas related to pharmacy operations including but not limited to medication safety, regulatory compliance, licensing requirements, contract purchasing, budget analysis, clinical initiative and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assumes first line responsibility for implementing, promoting and tracking the pharmacy program at the facility level.

  • Utilizes data supported dashboards to work with the facilities to achieve benchmarks set within the Division pharmacy program.

  • Meets targets of the strategic plan on time and reports outcomes and progress as required.

  • Provides complete customer service.

  • Presents materials in a positive and professional manner to co-workers, health care professionals and all customers.

  • Resolves problems or concerns as necessary in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Is proactive in and demonstrates commitment to the mission and vision of Universal Health Services and the Acute Division Pharmacy program.

  • Coordinates Pharmacy related technology.

  • Contributes to development, promotion, support, and facilitation of the strategic plan for pharmacy services utilizing technology via training and support of the facilities.

  • Assists with staff education and upgrades.

  • Keeps abreast of ongoing technical, clinical and fiscal developments in areas of responsibility and recommends improvements.

  • Coordinates Pharmacy related technology.

  • Contributes to development, promotion, support, and facilitation of the strategic plan for pharmacy services utilizing technology via training and support of the facilities.

  • Assists with staff education and upgrades.

  • Keeps abreast of ongoing technical, clinical and fiscal developments in areas of responsibility and recommends improvements.

    Monitors and assists with medication safety and regulatory compliance regarding any or all of the requirements of the National Patient Safety Goals, DEA regulations, the Joint Commission guidelines, the CMS Conditions of Participation and any pertaining state regulations/Department of Health standards.

  • Represents Division Pharmacy team on inter- and intradepartmental committees and review boards as assigned.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 5 years' experience in hospital Pharmacy management and operations in the acute care setting. Pharm D preferred.

  • Must be knowledgeable and up to date with Joint Commission Medication Management, DEA regulations, CMS Conditions of Participation and the National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Licensed pharmacist with advanced degree (Pharm D or MS, MBA) or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of hospital pharmacy computer applications and technology.
  • Experience with implementing patient safety and quality initiatives.
  • Able to work closely with Nursing, Quality, Risk Management and Information Technology departments as well as other departments as designated by the Corporate Director of Pharmacy.
  • Experienced in evaluating financial performance, budgets, and purchasing.
  • Proficient in MS applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Willing to travel 50-75%.
  • Ability to extend corporate initiatives to the hospitals effectively with defined end points.
