Description

The Credit Officer I is responsible for evaluating loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with the bank's credit policies. This role involves approving loans and credit facilities within established lending authority, analyzing financial statements, conducting risk assessments, and assisting in loan processing while maintaining excellent relationships within ANBTX.



  • Review and analyze loan applications, financial documents, credit report, and collateral to evaluate risk
  • Make credit decisions on loan and credit facilities within a defined scope
  • Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines
  • Assist internal clients with loan inquiries and provide guidance on potential structures
  • Support the development of credit policies and procedures
  • Provide regular updates on loan status and credit performance to management



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in commercial credit analysis including but not limited to varied loan and facility types, sizes and levels of complexity, portfolio management, or a related banking role
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and banking regulations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure


Skills:



  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word and Loan Management Systems; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to do complex math and carry out complex written instructions
  • Travel to variety of locations to perform work and/or attend meetings as required.
  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position
