Summary of Job Duties:The Server and Endpoint Technician is responsible for coordination and executing the assigned duties for the Bowen IT Services Office as directed by the IT Services Manager. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED;

  • Minimum of five years of IT experience;

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Server OS, DHCP, and Windows OS.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • HP laser printer maintenance;

  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

  • Working in a environment providing good customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, migration, configuration and maintenance of the law school servers, including departmental and faculty/staff shares and document space, Distributed File System, and DCHP availability;

  • Document and maintain Bowen IP space and set reservations as necessary;

  • Purchasing - hardware and software quote generation and follow-up order tracking;

  • Maintain software for student print accounting, including server upgrades, client software, and student support;

  • Maintain server backups using Veeam, including coordination with main campus IT Services personnel;

  • Implement laptop and desktop hardware replacement rollouts (shared responsibility);

  • UPS (uninterrupted power supply/battery backup) planning, configuration, and maintenance;

  • Monitor and maintain copier functions for the production of PDF files from paper documents;

  • Assist in monitoring/support of exams using Exam soft, which includes some nights and weekends;

  • Maintain email mailing lists and Google Groups;

  • Maintain service space KVM hardware;

  • Occasional printer maintenance;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to organize multiple tasks that have been concurrently assigned;

  • Ability to self-initiate projects;

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff on technical matters;

  • Ability to work well with other people in ongoing relationships and difficult situations;

  • Ability to work occasional evenings during the finals period.
