About the Role We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial person for the West Elm's Brand Strategic Planning team. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of our brand corporate OTB submission, providing financial, analytical, and strategic decision support to decide on what our forecast should be. In addition, this position will be heading up West Elm's promo management, determining what should be included to promo, forecasting sales/margin impacts, managing sku lists, as well as communicating features/list strategy to upper-level management. An ideal candidate will bring financial planning expertise, analytical capabilities, an eagerness to learn and collaborate, an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, as well as excellent communication skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Financial planning and analysis:
- Lead the annual budget and monthly forecast process for total company with a focus on Main Brand (DTC and RTL) as well as coordinate with B2B and OT teams
- Set up the Scenario file, organize, and actualize the forecast each month
- Work on net sales/margin bridges each month to accurately speak to changes within the business
- Input finance submission (dailies) into Essbase as well as input and maintain the Corp OTB submission
- Reforecast out sales/inventory metrics throughout the months as needed
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and continuously improve financial process accuracy and efficiency
Promo Captain:
- Create, maintain, and assist with pricing packet that determines what goes on the promo list
- Forecast out sales and margin impact of each promo sku list as well as developing strategies for major promotions
- Assist planners with getting the promo sku lists stamped, communicate out the promo sku lists to all partners (site/store/planners/merchants) and investigate when there are issues
- Recap major promotion strategies, sku counts, and discounts to upper-level management pre-event/during the event/post the event
- Maintain strong working relationships across the organization, communicating effectively in a variety of settings and operating collaboratively to ensure business partners are well informed and aligned with the brand's goals and objectives
- Be able to time manage your workload vs. promotional deadlines that cannot be easily changed
Reporting & ad hoc projects
- Develop and clearly communicate insightful financial analysis to evaluate business issues, risks and profitability opportunities
- Provide financial leadership in ad hoc projects by modeling the financial analysis of strategic initiatives

Qualifications:
- 3+ years planning and inventory management.
- 5+ years business experience.
- Strong business acumen, financial analysis, and technical skills.
- Very strong analytical skills - extensive experience with Excel building financial models and forecasts from scratch
- Creative problem solving and strategic thinking skills - able to delve into business issues and large amounts of data to form insights and recommendations.
- Relentless attention to detail and ability to consistently deliver high quality work.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects with a high degree of ambiguity in a fast-paced setting.
- Results oriented - strong sense of urgency and excellent follow through.
- Solid interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with non-financial partners and present a cohesive story to senior leaders
