MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS



1. BA/BS in Environmental Management or related field.

2. Minimum 7 years' experience in management of environmental programs for industry, a regulatory government agency, similar organization, or significant industry experience with strong environmental focus.

3. Experience writing environmental and scientific reports.

4. Experience speaking in a public setting.



PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (



1. Experience in environmental programs for general industry.

2. Experience in government regulatory agency.



DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Overall management of Company environmental and land use permitting and compliance.

2. Ensure EPA, State, and local environmental regulatory compliance.

3. Work with operations team to design and implement mine plans that maximize total value of resource while protecting the environment.

4. Provide leadership, training and inspections of Company operations to assure our compliance with all environmental regulations.

5. Establish good public relations in an ongoing effort to build and maintain a "good neighbor" rapport with both the public and local government units regarding all operations.

6. Manage Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure program.

7. Keep abreast of current and changing State/EPA regulations impacting Company operations.

8. Implement annual training which teaches regulations, compliance practices, company policy and common-sense approaches to environmental protection.

9. Work closely with team members to create appropriate operational plans in support of land use permit requests.

10. Prepare for and participate in public hearings regarding requests for land use with local governments or decision-making bodies.

11. Sign all land use permit applications on behalf of the company.

12. Responsible for the management of Company properties owned and leased.

13. Maintain properties within the Company's Managing Aggregate Resources System (MARS).

14. Participate in due diligence activities for new properties, owned and leased.

15. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.

16. Perform other duties as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES



1. Excellent interpersonal, management, and strategic organization skills. Able to work productively with a wide variety of personnel in other roles including management, supervisory, operational, financial, and other technical and administrative staff. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with regulatory agencies.

2. Ability to adapt and respond to difficult questions and issues.

3. Ability to use tact and professionalism including in times of extreme stress.

4. Excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills, as well as public speaking/presentations.

5. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

6. Ability to travel to operating divisions within North Dakota and eastern Montana on an intermittent basis to connect with field operations, managers.
