Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Assistant Director for Administration and Resource Management serves as the chief resource officer of the fiscal, human resources, and administrative functions of Teaching, Learning, and Library Services (
TLLS), including the Center for Teaching Excellence (
CTE), Distance Education & eLearning (DEeL), and the
UNCW Library, The Assistant Director is an active member of TLLS' and
UNCW Library's leadership teams and plays a critical role in strategic, capital, and non-capital financial planning.
As chief financial and human resource officer for
TLLS, this position collaborates with a variety of people and offices across the three
TLLS units, across
UNCW and outside of the institution to navigate and resolve complex financial and HR issues. The Assistant Director is responsible for providing customized financial reporting and data analysis to the Associate Provost and leadership team and participates in strategic decision-making and establishment of short and long-term financial models. The Assistant Director supervises the
TLLS Business Services Coordinator and provides indirect coordination with others within the unit responsible for materials and technology acquisitions. The Assistant Director is a member of the
TLLS and
UNCW Library leadership teams and participates in the strategic planning processes for both
TLLS and the Library. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area and three years of administrative management or business management experience. |
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience |
- A Master's degree with seven years of relevant financial management and personnel experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Experience executing and planning large and complex budgets.
- Leadership experience with recruiting, hiring and managing records for integrated personnel teams.
- Experience with strategic and long-range planning.
- Experience forecasting and prioritizing personnel and operational resources. Able to develop and enact higher-level policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of University fiscal management and grants management.
- Knowledge of library or university administrative units.
- Experience with Banner Ellucian and/or other personnel and financial systems used at UNCW.
