Primary Purpose of Organization Unit
Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Facilities, Facilities Management comprises of two departments - Facilities Operations; and Facilities Planning and Construction. The primary mission is delivering required services, financial oversight, and providing a liaison with appropriate Federal, State, and local agencies on matters related to planning, constructing, operating and maintaining the physical campus environment. Facilities Management strives to provide a safe, clean, accessible, and attractive environment which enhances the abilities of academic and administrative departments to provide a personalized education experience.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the housekeeping functions of the Chancellor's Residence and Guest House. In performing these duties the employee will be expected to complete the following tasks within the residence: sweep, dust, clean windows/glass, vacuum, mop, polish silver, laundry (wash, dry, iron items which includes clothing, linen, etc.). Specialized area and tasks include: the cleanliness of the kitchen (wash dishes, clean/organize cabinets, etc.), and bathrooms (commode, floor, shower, bath, vanity, etc.). The employee will be responsible for the overall housekeeping appearance of the residence and additional requirements will include the assignment of other tasks designated by the supervisor. All items (furniture, decorations, etc.) must be kept in a neat and orderly manner. The employee will be responsible for answering the telephone (answer with a greeting and record message or notify the family member of a call), and greeting guest(s) to the residence (notify family member of visitor(s) present). These functions require the employee to be polite, courteous, and professional when greeting family members or resident guest(s). The employee will be responsible for maintaining a cleaning products supply inventory and completing the shopping for these items on a monthly interval at a local grocery store (valid driver's license is required). The employee will be required to wear a uniform to maintain a professional appearance. The employee must have good organizational skills and be able to prioritize work assignments in order to schedule tasks around the daily routine of the family members with minimal disturbance.

Position also performs coverage for short staff situations as well as event coverage during and outside normal campus business hours.

This position is Mandatory Personnel: Employee whose presence has been determined to be mandatory to University operations during certain types of adverse weather or emergency events.
Management Preference
5 - 10 years of housekeeping experience.
Lic or Certification required by statute or regulation
