Description

The Commercial Finance Manager will be a key resource to Finance, Sales and Marketing. The role will focus on ensuring that pricing actions and decisions are timely and consider a wide variety of factors. This position will require a strong knowledge base in margin analysis, variance analysis (volume, price and mix analysis), the ability to seek out process/procedural improvements, and exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills. This new role is essential in building a strong resource and vision for innovative margin, product costing, and variance analysis with robust policies and procedures and team development at Daisy Brand.

Principle Duties




  1. Leadership

    1. Develop and mentor team members to ensure continuous learning and skill development
    2. Create a positive and engaging work environment
    3. Lead the setting and tracking progress of annual team goals and objectives


  2. Pricing and Margin Management

    1. Partnering with Sales and Marketing on pricing and trade decisions
    2. Developing models and making recommendations
    3. Support and mentor the pricing team including processes and procedures
    4. Ensure appropriate controls and processes


  3. Trade Funding, Spending and Contra Revenue

    1. Partner with Sales to assist on their performance and reporting needs
    2. Be a subject matter expert on promotions and pricing data
    3. Return on investment analysis for promotions


  4. Budgeting & Forecasting

    1. Ensuring that the annual budget and monthly reforecasts are accurate for volume, pricing, promotions and related areas
    2. Oversight of the Sales Planner/Trade Promotion Management tools and processes
    3. Aid in the maintenance of data loaded into ERP system and support expansion of software capabilities


  5. Ad-hoc, Reporting and Daily Soft Close

    1. Ensure that reports and data sources produced by the team are current, accurate, and automated
    2. Develop and manage daily soft close processes to provide further visibility and trust in information
    3. Perform comprehensive financial assessments to evaluate business performance, spot trends, and offer actionable insights
    4. Offer strategic insights on initiatives and projects, providing financial guidance and ensuring alignment with overall objectives





KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES (WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE)



  1. Become subject matter expert of how Trade Funding and Trade Expenses are evaluated and provide insight into spending
  2. Become subject matter expert into the pricing models and the factors that are in play for retail, club, hospitality and other segments, making recommendations and being a resource for leadership
  3. Establish strong working relationships with Sales, Marketing, Operations Finance and cross functional departments
  4. Committed to investing time to assist in the growth and development of others
  5. Proactively provide analysis and insight into monthly results
  6. Consistent and effective approach to managing responsibilities
  7. Self-starter who can work independently while managing several tasks and/or projects contemporaneously
  8. Constantly strive for innovation and continuous improvement



IMMEDIATE MANAGER: Chief Financial Officer

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college is required
  2. Experience in ERP software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is a plus
  3. 5+ years of work experience in commercial finance or sales finance with previous supervisory experience is required
  4. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and PowerBI are required
  5. Experience with Visual Basic (now scripts) skills and data management is a plus
  6. Experience in Microsoft Power Automate or other RPA tools is a plus
  7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management
  8. Excellent business acumen and analytical approaches to modeling and problem-solving
  9. Experience with trade management with a CPG company
  10. A hybrid work environment will split time between working remote and the corporate office
